1967 Trident Photo

This is the second San Francisco Yacht Club which replaced an earlier clubhouse that was destroyed
by a fire the year before. This San Francisco Yacht Club opened April 23, 1898 and during it's 29
years on Water Street (now Bridgeway) became a locus for the social activities of the Bay Area
yachting community. In the mid 1960s it became the Trident.

If you knew Kevin you knew Bill. Bill was an actor who became immortalized when he posed for this photo. Fred Meyer's pharmacy in town displayed this poster on their front window till that day, the only pharmacy in the town of Sausalito closed. Dutifully Bill would always arrive at the end of Kevin's shift, to escort her from work. Two wonderful, and beautiful lovebirds!
"Bill passed at the tender age of 66 years yet I cultivate gratefulness everyday for what we had and how long we had it together (almost 27 years!). I remember my darlin' Bill coming off the ferry from an audition in SF with his three piece Brooks Brother pinstripe shirt looking so sharp. He'd have a bunch of flowers in his hand and Kathy Mac would pinch his butt because he looked so cute!" Noreen Kevin Jelliffe, San Rafael, California (4/19/2007)

OK, it's a little hard to read but here's Buck Lacey's
Busboy business card....please note, "Privileged Character"

"Where's Waldo?" I mean "Where's Buck?" was often the cry heard when you
found out that Buck was working on your shift. Likable, charasmatic, but where'd the
hell did he go?
Smoke break on the steps across the street? Or, out looking for potential new
waitresses? The elusive and mysterious Buck Lacey. Where are you Buck?

Hello;
I am doing research, and recording oral history interviews, on the life and times of artist Steve Elvin and his friends.
If anybody knows the current whereabouts of Steve's art, or persons who might have stories to share, I would be most grateful for the information.
I would particularly like to obtain copies or photos of his work, particularly the murals he painted at the Trident and at the Fillmore West.
Sincerely,
Page Brownton

thought I would add to the memories -in 62 and 63 during summer months--july to sept. us kids would fish the trident pier--for big stingrays-its an outgoing tide bite ,we always caught fish -to big to land on the pier -so we ran to the seawall and played the fish in -at least a 10 to 20min tussle -the motorists on Bridgeway would stop and stare at us --fighting big fish -however many times this caused a backup in traffic all the way back to the Golden Gate Bridge --oops-hey but those were some of the best days of my life--my nickname {we all had one ,it was a ritual we all went through after your first landed and released fish--} I was called Polar Bear---to any of you guys that would remember--my favorite place to be was on the fishing pier next to the trident restarant--was there when the kingston trio got caught with a couple of keys of pot on their boat------there was magic in the air back then --esp with such an incredible view of the city ---thanks and blessed with the oppurtunity to share the memories with you all --Sausalito

Okay so now we know how the Trident came to be. Looks like this is basically a reunion site and a ‘where are you now’. Any wedding in Hawaii has got to be a good thing. How did that marriage end up BTW?
